The Reflexive Universe Documentary (Berkeley, 1981)
The Reflexive Universe Documentary is a 56-minute documentary about the life and work of Arthur M. Young. It contains rare early helicopter footage, interviews with Young and his associates, an illustrated narrative introduction to the Theory of Process, and abundant wit and wisdom.
“In early 1980, Arthur Bloch took it upon himself to make a videotape of my exposition of The Reflexive Universe and The Geometry of Meaning. The project started simply. Arthur planned to borrow a TV camera from the University at almost no cost and film me at the Institute. Then he realized that to get good quality we must use a better camera. Then it was necessary to have two cameras—and next, a truck with a professional camera crew. In the end, the whole street had to be blocked off to prevent the noise of traffic!” – Arthur M.
